Re: Temporarily unavailable (12th Jul 10 at 8:59pm BST)
We are now back up. There have been changes involving the way the randomizer images are structured. If you have a randomizer which uses images uploaded directly to the system that worked before but have stopped working, please log in, go to the "modify your randomizer" page, use the "Click to load all images" button to identify the broken image(s), and post the image URL(s) here.

The Uploader itself will be offline for a little while longer.
The uploader is also back now {Smile}

Thank you for your patience.

Post here if you still have problems
The account that random-image.net is hosted on has been suspended without warning due to excessive usage. I am currently working with the host to resolve the issue. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. I will post updates here when they come.

So I've set it up with the images I want (for now at least), but how do I actually use it (on a forum)?

Hi,

In the randomizer row on the page http://www.random-image.net/?action=rnd there is a URL if you want to directly link to it (or if you want to use it as an avatar) or you can click "Additional codes" for ways of embedding it into forum posts and signatures.

I dont understand what it is like it gives me no friggen example as to what I need to put in that stupiud box >< I dont have anything with numbers and stuff x-x -CONFUSED-

Are you talking about the dialog that pops up when you click "Add URL" above the table of URLs? That box is for putting in an image URL if you have already uploaded the image somewhere (the place you have uploaded to should provide you with the image URL). You may use that, or you may use the uploader a little further up the page to upload your image directly into the randomizer.

Nevermind. My apologies for posting too early. I finally figured out what my password was and logged in. I've set an email address on my profile so there won't be any problems again hopefully.

Sorry for the useless post.

I've forgotten my password but when I try to recover it it says no email address is registered to that account. What do I do? Is there a way for me to recover my account?

Hi,

have you tried entering http://a.random-image.net/jestyn/fuko.gif as the URL instead?
If that does not work, can you give me the exact wording for the description of the field you are trying to put it in? Sometimes the way the forum is set up can prevent you from using an image randomizer all together...

thanks for replying, anyways, yep it accepted that link, but now the problem is it doesn't switch when i refresh the page {Sad}

anyways not really sure if this is the info what you' were asking me but this is where i put the link
Image

-Edit: Also i just noticed that when i go directly to that link you gave me, it tooks more than one refresh before it switch to another image

Could it be that the forum that jestyn is trying to take the randomizer image as a upload and store an image onto it's server?

Edit: If it's not too much of a privacy issue, can you share the link of the forum? Last I remember vbulletin is a forum software and does no actual hosting of it's own. The admin of your forum might have set it up to take an image have it hosted internally, instead of an external link.

well not really, because whenever the image is deleted from it's host it also affects my avatar on this forums

anyways i would give you the link but not really sure if im allowed to put a forum link here, because in some forums some people recieve a warning by putting a link from another forums, i know that there's no really a rule here regarding that, but even so in the other forums people still receives a warning by doing so even it isn't in the rules

FavIcon.ico (1st Apr 10 at 2:18am BST)
Having a specialized randomizer for the FAVICON.ico on ALL the Browsers [CB]
In Firefox the Browser can support a .jpg .gif .png as it's favicon and will show it. AND even IF the picture is Big it auto re-size it to a 16x16 to display in the tabs. I'm not sure if it would support an animated.gif but it does support an Animated.png

IExplorer however; Will not show anything that is bigger than 16x16 AND if it's not a .ico at the ending and I'm not sure if just renaming a .gif to a .ico will work.

So could you make a randomizer that changes all the pics in the list to 16x16 and in a .ico format automatically?

and a 2nd stage would be making an animated .ico in the list {Tongue Out} {Grin}

Just found this recently http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon

You never said it but I assumed it, since it was (1st Apr 10 at 1:54am BST)
my 1st time using Support. I thought you had it set up that way when I was just starting to register. and was guessing you had some script in place to keep the two connected via cookies or something. ANYWAYS not important.

I posted my contribution to the registration procedure. feel free to do with it as you wish.

You need stuff explained why the wording was made let me know PMe

I understand that the 2 system are seperate. So does that mean in order to register in the support forum you must be logged in the MAIN randomizer 1st?

Either way i am logged in the main one, yet the support forum doesn't recognize that i am logged in from the main one.
The only options that are AVAILABLE to me is the ones below:

Home :: Help :: Search :: Login ::

the closest is the 2nd box from the right at the

What you're describing here is the forum, NOT the main one. Look at the URL when you are viewing that. I'm pretty sure it says http://support.random-image.net. That's not what I mean by the "main" one. By the main one I mean http://www.random-image.net (which I'm pretty sure you have logged into before). On the main one, it should say "Welcome [your username]". If it doesn't, log in by going here: http://www.random-image.net/?action=login .
If/when you are logged in, you are looking on the MAIN site (not on the forum!) for a form to register on this forum with.

I never said anywhere that you have to log into MAIN to log into SUPPORT {Unsure}
I said you had to be logged into MAIN in order to register for the first time on SUPPORT...
